Apply to either the full-time program (one-year program) or part-time program for working professionals. Currently four departments are offering the part-time MEng program: CEE, MSE, ME, and NE. Only the full-time program is available for BIOE, IEOR and EECS students. You must indicate which option you wish to be considered for during the application process. Please note that both options employ the same standards and criteria for admission.
Part-Time Option Details
- Part-time students may take one to three courses per semester and complete the program at their own pace in 2-4 years
- CEE, MSE, ME, and NE departments are offering the part-time, self-paced program
- Part-time students take the same classes as full-time students. Classes typically meet once or twice a week during the day, Monday-Friday
- Students take technical electives first, followed by the yearlong Engineering Leadership courses and capstone project
- Student visas for international students are not available for part-time students
- Students must enroll in a minimum 6 units per semester to be eligible for financial aid, including federal loans
- For the Fall 2022 – Spring 2023 academic year, part-time option tuition and fees are $2,200 per unit. Degree completion is typically 2 academic years from enrollment, up to 4 years with approval.
