Data Visualization Workshop

Fung Fellows in the Sustainability track explored how data can be transformed into visual tools that people can think and feel with. Led by Sam Pottinger, Senior Research Data Scientist and Software Engineer at the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center for Data Science and Environment, the workshop used examples from climate and plastics policy to compare different chart styles and interfaces. Fellows observed how each approach directs attention to different aspects of the data and how creative visualizations can influence both understanding and emotional response.
