Department: Bioengineering
Concentration: Synthetic Biology
I’m a current master’s student at UC Berkeley studying Bioengineering (with a focus in synthetic biology). I recently completed my BS in Microbiology and Oceanography from the University of British Columbia (in Vancouver, BC). I have a pretty heavy research background. I’ve been the lead investigator on some molecular biology and environmental engineering projects. I’ve also assisted in research projects relating to geomicrobiology, astrobiology, virology, and the philosophy of science. I have worked under multiple Principal Investigators who own companies in the private sector. I am very interesting in biological and environmental engineering; specifically applications related to climate change mitigation and carbon capture. Outside of school, I enjoy adventure sports (mountain biking, skiing, kayaking, climbing) and martial arts (Muay Thai, BJJ, and Classical Jujitsu).
