The Fung Institute provides a simple interface for filtering and downloading US granted patent data 1975 through 2014. Bulk downloads are available at the “Common Downloads” link, and include both granted patent and patent application data. Data is updated every month with the latest granted patents and published applications. We provide disambiguated inventors and locations and are beginning to provide disambiguated assignee data, which facilitates the tracking of inventors and firms over time and location.
This tool is helpful for researchers who want comprehensive, clean and up-to-date patent data (this project updates the 2010 Patent Network Dataverse project — https://thedata.harvard.edu/dvn/dv/patent). We provide a mechanism for creating exhaustive datasets without the usual manual tinkering. Technology classes, lawyers, claims, titles, abstracts and more are all linked together to provide as much information on any patent granted since 1975.
