Current Readings in Innovation (IEOR 270)
IEOR 270, Current Readings in Innovation, is intended to survey recent research and bring together the doctoral and post graduate innovation research community on campus. It meets on Wednesdays, right after the Berkeley Innovation Seminar.
The day’s innovation speaker will usually join us for an extended discussion of the seminar paper, as well as one or two other papers by the speaker. This gives us an opportunity to understand the processes of research and publishing research. We often Skype in the author of an additional paper as well.
Most of the readings will be empirical, with an occasional theory paper, formal or informal. Students can suggest readings and topics as well. We will sometimes read a classic paper and try to coordinate that paper with the day’s topic. At least two papers will be assigned each week; students will also be expected to have read the seminar paper. (Students can get separate credit for the seminar as IEOR 298, Econ 222, or Business 279.)
Auditors and occasional attendance are welcome, though we would prefer you are prepared and fully take part in the discussion.
