Hi, I’m Shruti! I hold a B.S. in Biology with a Specialization in Bioinformatics and a Minor in Computer Science from UC San Diego and am currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in Bioengineering at UC Berkeley. Before Berkeley, I worked as a Bioinformatician at Columbia University and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where I applied multi-omics analysis and clinical data integration to infectious disease and neurology research. At Becton Dickinson, I worked at the intersection of computational biology and machine learning to develop tools for EMR annotation.
I’m passionate about bringing together bioinformatics, AI, and healthcare to develop technologies that personalize patient care and improve outcomes. As the Biotech & Life Sciences Affinity Group Leader, I’m excited to help build a diverse, collaborative community by connecting students with one another and with researchers, alumni, and industry professionals.
Outside of school, you can usually find me hiking, playing tennis, dancing at a concert, playing guitar or piano, or spending time with friends and family.
