Affinity Group Leader - Robotics

Hi! My name is Samina and I’m an MEng ME student and Fung Excellence Scholar specializing in the Control of Robotic and Autonomous Systems.

I earned my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, during which I worked on UAVs for NASA, autonomous EV charging architecture for Chargepoint, and robotic swarm control at Hawkes Lab.

I love bridging the gap between hardware and embedded systems to bring machines to life, specifically engineering for uncertain environments like disaster sites and deep space. As an Affinity Group Lead, I look forward to connecting with the greater Bay Area robotics community to explore how far we can push the boundaries of robot autonomy.

When I’m not tinkering, you can find me reading, listening to music, and getting lost amongst the redwoods. I love meeting new people, so feel free to reach out to talk engineering or just hang out!
