Affinity Group Leader - Artificial Intelligence

Robin Holzinger is a Master’s student in EECS at UC Berkeley, specializing in Data Science and scalable machine learning systems.

Before Berkeley, he earned his BSc in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and conducted his thesis at ETH Zurich’s Systems Group under the supervision of Prof. Ana Klimović, contributing to a SIGMOD ’25 paper on data-centric ML pipeline orchestration.

Robin has worked at the intersection of machine learning, data science, and software engineering at QuantCo in Zurich and Munich, designing and scaling production-grade ML pipelines for real-world impact in healthcare and insurance. He has led infrastructure efforts across research and venture projects, including open-source contributions to Modyn, a system for adaptive ML retraining.

He has received the Studienstiftung, DAAD, and Fung Excellence Scholarships and was also offered the ETH Zurich ESOP and Fulbright Germany grants. His broader interests span data-driven decision-making, systems engineering, and economics.
