Karisma Vyas is currently pursuing an MEng in Bioengineering with a focus on Biomedical Device Development. Originally from Thompson, Manitoba, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering from the University of Manitoba in Canada. During her undergraduate studies, Karisma completed a thesis investigating the use of mechanical vibration to enhance proprioception in post-stroke individuals and contributed to several projects focusing on assistive technology. She was drawn to the MEng program for its collaborative environment, emphasis on leadership and entrepreneurship, and strong opportunities for networking and professional growth. After graduation, Karisma aims to work in the medical device industry, developing affordable and accessible rehabilitation technologies. Outside of her academic pursuits, she enjoys traveling, learning new languages and seeking new experiences around the world
