I’m studying visual computing and computer graphics in the MEng EECS program. Originally from Perm, Russia, I came to the United States in 2005. After completing my undergraduate degree in computer science at Rice University in 2012, I moved to the Bay Area and worked at tech companies as a software engineer. Before joining the MEng program, I built web applications for NASA scientists and engineers. I enjoy collaborative and creative work of designing products that are both functional and beautiful.
My interests are in UX, human-computer interaction (HCI), and interface design. I’m excited to co-lead the HCI Affinity Group and learn more about it together.
In my free time, I love to read, paint, hike, and play video games.
I’m passionate about mentoring others in software engineering and communications. Use Calendly to book an appointment with me, or send me an email (irina_hallinan@berkeley.edu) if you need any help or just want to say hello.
