Affinity Group Leader - Entrepreneurship & Start-ups
Hi! I’m Ilan, an MEng student in Mechanical Engineering and one of your Entrepreneurship & Startups Affinity Group leaders for 2026–27. I just graduated from Arts et Métiers Institute of Technology in France, where I studied physics and computer science, and I’m driven by the intersection of machine learning, aerospace propulsion, and deep-tech entrepreneurship.
Before Berkeley, I built a machine learning model predicting unsteady aerodynamic loads at Georgia Tech and worked on the propulsion test bench of ArianeGroup’s first reusable launcher campaign. I also led my university’s aerospace association and founded an AI-powered platform matching users with personalized activity providers. At Berkeley, I aim to build an ML surrogate MVP for propulsion simulation and, hopefully, turn it into an investment-ready venture.
Outside engineering, I enjoy trail running, the history of religions, and, above all, an after-lunch espresso! This year, I’m excited to build a community that connects students with founders, investors, and potential co-founders, while helping turn technical ideas into real ventures.
