Chih-Hua (Catherine) Liu

Affinity Group Leader - BioTech & Life Sciences

My name is Chih-Hua Liu, and you can call me Catherine. I am pursuing an MEng in Bioengineering at UC Berkeley, with a concentration in Bioinformatics & Computational Biology. I grew up in Canada and later moved to Taiwan, where I spent most of my academic life and earned my B.S. in Life Science from National Tsing Hua University.

I have multidisciplinary, hands-on experience in both wet and dry lab settings, spanning molecular biology, cancer bioinformatics, and AI-driven approaches. Through academic exchanges in Zurich and Berkeley, as well as an internship at ITRI during my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong passion for advancing genomic therapeutics and biomarker discovery through machine learning and deep learning.

As an Affinity Group Leader, I aim to connect people with shared academic interests and foster a supportive community for both personal growth and career development.

In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar and singing. I served as the Field Director of my university’s guitar club and took great pleasure in performing with bands. I’m also passionate about traveling and always eager to discover hidden-gem spots—so if you know any, let’s trade lists!
