
Anurag is a PhD student in the Medical Polymer Group at UC Berkeley and works on the tribology and mechanical behavior of orthopedic implants. He is the recipient of the Berkeley Fellowship for Graduate Study. Anurag received his BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Varanasi (IIT-BHU) in 2016. He has served as a GSI for several courses at Cal including ‘Mechanical Behavior of Engineering Materials’ (ME108, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021), ‘Polymer Engineering’ (ME/BioE C223, Fall 2021), and ‘Failure Analysis of Structural Materials’ (ME 224A, Spring 2022). Aside from academics, he is actively involved in several mentorship programs through the ME department, Graduate Women of Engineering (GWE), Berkeley International Office (BIO) and his alma mater. He has also authored a guidebook titled ‘The A-Z of American Grad School Applications’ (Amazon, 2018).
