Fellows in the Sustainability track practiced planning and conducting interviews with Julia Sizek (UC Berkeley Anthropology PhD), a foundational skill for understanding users in the design process. They learned how to define what they want to learn, choose participants, and approach conversations thoughtfully. The workshop covered structured and semi-structured formats, and emphasized how awareness of positionality and creating a comfortable space helps elicit meaningful insights.
