We are thrilled to share that one of our own MEng alumni, Connor Landgraf, has received the Mark Bingham Award for Excellence in Achievement by a Young Alumnus/a, one of the highest awards the University of California offers to its alumni!
During his time at Berkeley, both as an undergrad and MEng student, Connor began to develop the Eko Core, which enables physicians to use their stethoscopes to record, amplify and wirelessly send audio and sound wave images to an iPhone application. This allows for physicians to accurately detect heart abnormalities, even when there is no cardiologist available. In the past couple years, the Eko Core not only got FDA approved, it has also received a lot of media attention in BizJournals, The New York Times, Forbes (30 under 30), and TIME Magazine as one of the best inventions of 2015. We are so proud of Connor’s achievements and congratulate him on a well-deserved award!
