Capstone project work is carried out within the 5-unit course, ENGIN 296 Capstone Projects. The main activity is independent project work under the direct mentorship of a faculty advisor and/or industry advisor, depending on the Project Type.

Students must submit a team capstone project report that is a requirement for graduation. In addition, each team is expected to provide the project advisor with a final project deliverable, the form of which is to be defined in collaboration with the project advisor. Examples of project deliverables include product prototypes, algorithms, conceptual designs, software code, and proof-of-concept.
Capstone teams consist of 3 to 5 students, a size that better optimizes team dynamics and provides more opportunities for developing effective leadership and teaming skills. To further emphasize the importance of teaming, and to provide tools with which to effectively manage your team, we conduct a rigorous 360 team review process that includes detailed surveys and facilitated feedback session.
