INNOVATION IN ENTREPRENEURIAL AND SOCIAL FINANCE PROGRAM LAUNCHED BY UC BERKELEY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
Crowdfund investing will be the initial focus of the new Program for Innovation in Entrepreneurial and Social Finance launched by the College of Engineering’s Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership. The Program will establish the world’s leading academic and applied research on innovations in early stage finance and will apply rigorous academic scrutiny to these emerging models.
Crowdfund Investing is the newest, most talked about and potentially most transformative innovation in entrepreneurial finance. The Program for Innovation in Entrepreneurial and Social Finance has Jason Best and Sherwood Neiss as co-founders and serving on the leadership team. They are recognized as global thought leaders on early stage venture finance and founders of the crowdfund investing movement in the United States. They wrote the framework legalizing crowdfund investing in the US and their firm Crowdfund Capital Advisors (CCA) works with government agencies, multinational enterprises, and institutions to understand and benefit from crowdfund investing (CFI).
