Joni Rubin, MPH, MSW
Director of the Fung Fellowship
Joni oversees the strategy and execution of the Fung Fellowship. She holds a masters in Public Health and masters in Social Work from UC Berkeley. Prior to coming to Cal, Joni held national leadership positions in the Veterans Health Administration working in the areas of patient centered care, healthcare transformation and data & analytics. To support her own health and well-being, Joni runs, meditates, and hikes.
Jaspal Sandhu, PhD
Lead Faculty Instructor
Jaspal is Lead Faculty Instructor for the Fung Fellowship. Dr Sandhu is a lecturer in the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, teaching innovations and human-centered design courses for graduate and undergraduate students. Trained as an engineer, Dr. Sandhu is a Founding Partner of Gobee Group, a social innovation design and technology consultancy.
Jennifer Mangold, PhD
Jennifer leads the lab sections of the course and coaches the fellows in team dynamics, effective communication, and problem solving skills. She also manages strategic partnerships and community engagement for the fellowship. Jennifer holds a Masters and PhD in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley. To support her own health and well-being, she enjoys the outdoors, practices mindfulness, and spends time with friends and family.
Adrienne Greer, MPH
Adrienne drives the overall academic student experience, professional development series, and assists in community engagement for the Fung Fellowship. Adrienne holds a masters in Public Health from UCLA and a BA from UCSB. To support her own health and well-being, Adrienne spends time in nature, pursues healthy cooking, and engages in gratitude practices.
Bina Patel Shrimali, MPH
Graduate Student Instructor
Bina is a Graduate Student Instructor for the Fung Fellowship. She is a doctoral student in the School of Public Health. Before coming to Cal for her doctorate, Bina worked for six years at the Alameda County Public Health Department establishing and leading the Building Blocks for Health Equity unit focused on strategic partnerships and program innovation to improve the health of children and families. For her well-being, Bina enjoys cooking and hanging out at the beach.
Rohit Raghavan, BTech
Graduate Student Instructor
Rohit is a Graduate Student Instructor for the Fung Fellowship, coordinating on the technology aspects of the course. He is currently a masters student at the School of Information. Before coming to UC Berkeley, he worked in the software industry for eight years as a consultant for several of the top telecom companies in the world. To support his health and well-being, Rohit rides his bike, works out, and enjoys healthy eating.
Social Media and Marketing Intern
Angelica works to maintain and develop the Fung Fellowship’s presence on social media and online. She also works at the UC Berkeley Career Center as a Peer Adviser counseling students. As a senior majoring in media studies, she hopes to work in a career with a positive social impact. To support her own health and wellness, Angelica enjoys drawing, hanging out with her friends, and good food.
